Fill the Boot with North Pole Magic

sweetestvintage

Santa made a special trip to the City of Windcrest, to help the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department “Fill the Boot,” and light the City Hall Christmas Tree.

We at Vertical Events and Solutions, were over the moon (in a sleigh led by 8 reindeer) to be able to participate in the 69th annual “Windcrest Light Up!” on behalf of our client D.A.R.E. America. We met so many wonderful parents, interested in the new program, and wanting to get it in their schools!

An estimated 4,000 people came, to watch Santa throw his North Pole magic, and light, not only the tree, but the whole city!

Polar Express, was played on loop in a cozy tent, three times throughout the evening; and the creamy hot chocolate was steady flowing, topped with marshmallows, and accompanied by complimentary donuts thanks to Dunkin Donuts’ generosity!

The volunteers, and staff, were disguised as elves; and Santa’s photo takers, and Christmas Light Traffic Directors, were Windcrest’s own volunteer Firemen. Each with a boot, and a Santa hat, as this is one of their biggest fundraisers of the year.

The Firemen danced, sang, photographed, and handed out hot cocoa, to add to their long list of already extensive community service.

Founded in 1970, the Windcrest Volunteer Fire Department has 25 members, and answers over 1000 calls a year. They were 2010’s First Responders of the Year, and it’s easy to see why!

The theme this year, was “Hometown Christmas,” and the Windcrest Light Up, is sponsored by the Windcrest Economic Development Corporation, and the Windcrest Women’s Club.

We, at Vertical Events and Solutions, are already looking forward to next yea’s twinkling lights, and want to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season!
