Small businesses are an integral part of San Antonio.
They are connected with day to day life, support the community, know their customers by name, and have a visible heart.
We at Vertical Events and Solutions, wanted to take a moment to thank some of the small businesses that have contributed to our client, D.A.R.E. America. Their support, makes curriculum updates, and further reach, possible.
Switched in 2007 to the “Keepin’ it R.E.A.L.” curriculum, the new D.A.R.E. is based in SEL (socio-emotional learning). Putting students, K-12, in small groups, in discussions lead by D.A.R.E. officers, trained in 80 hours of psychologist developed curriculum.
Gone are the days of cookie-cutter scare tactics: D.A.R.E.’s comprehensive approach to public, private, and charter school environments, gives children the tools, and vocabulary, to handle stress, peer-pressure, bullying, vaping, opiod-awareness, internet safety, prescription drug abuse, and even, teen suicide.
We especially want to thank Licensed Esthetician Belma Rodriguez, at Bellisima Aesthetics, located in Shavano Park, Dr. Toni Racoma at Vista Vision in Sonterra Village, the Certified Massage Therapists at Healing Sunshine Wellness Institute of MacArthur Park, Coach Jeanine of Orangetheory New Braunfels, Family-owned, El Rodeo De Jalisco off Potranco, Locally-owned, and operated, Play It Again Sports, in Brookhollow, and Big Frog SATX, for recently funding full-classrooms of the revamped D.A.R.E. Program.
We are amazed at the support throughout San Antonio, from every industry.
100% of students are affected by at least one of these complex, modern issues, and with increasing classroom size, now more than ever, it is important to give students up-to-date tools, to handle their environment.
